& Other Stories bagged the best womenswear design team award at WGSN. Staged by WGSN, the world's leading fashion forecaster, the WGSN Global Fashion Awards recognise and reward brilliance in fashion and retail design across the globe.
The awards were presented at a star-studded, exclusive gala event at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
& Other Stories is the latest hit offering from the H&M powerhouse; it presents women with a wide range of shoes, bags, accessories, beauty and ready-to-wear to create their personal style, or story. The brand’s creative ateliers in Paris and Stockholm design diversified fashion collections with great attention to detail and quality at an affordable price.
The & Other Stories approach is about bringing everything the customer can wear into one place, focusing on the whole look. The team believes shoes, bags, jewellery, lingerie and beauty are key for styling and just as important as clothing. Collections are built around inspiring fashion stories, and its lines are diverse, ranging from masculine tailoring to feminine chic and designed to provide the customer with endless styling choices.
Carefully selected materials are an important ingredient as the team say it aims to design “lasting wardrobe treasures within a wide price range”. “Our aim is to create collections, with well thought-out solutions, that give people the opportunity to express their personality,” it says.
In addition to quality sustainability is a key driver throughout the H&M group, which believes that the manufacturing of clothes, shoes, accessories and beauty products should be done in a responsible way. The group’s “Code of Conduct” explains the requirements placed on all suppliers when it comes to environmental practices and working conditions for their employees. This code builds the basis of the company’s efforts to make its supply chain more sustainable.
